Signed 3D Prints

With your STL for 3D printing, it can be challenging to keep your name attached; however, an effective solution has been found. By incorporating a 1mm high set of initials (TNH) in the center of the design, you can make your mark on your digital creations. At a layer height of 0.3 mm, this will print three layers of initials before being covered. An image or logo could also be used to identify the modeler. This approach is beneficial for artists, engineers, and hobbyists alike, as it connects the printed object with its creator. Check out this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv_OQN2H590) and blog post (http://thenewhobbyist.com/2012/12/signing-3d-prints/) for a demonstration of this unique method.
