Signal box for IR sensor
thingiverse
I'm designing a signal box that allows you to sit near the tracks and discreetly hide a sensor, triggering a grade crossing flasher using an Arduino program. I took inspiration from an HO signal box, which I remixed into Tinkercad at 54% for N scale. Next, I adjusted the X and Y coordinates to fit an IR sensor perfectly and created a hole for the detector lens. To assemble the project, you'll need to bend the IR and detector 90 degrees from the board. The majority of the detector board will be buried in the layout base, which is typically made of foam in my case. Check out the video at https://youtu.be/-kqAZqe-W4A for a detailed explanation of the Arduino code and all the necessary parts.
