Sight Rail for blowgun
thingiverse
This is a sight that will firmly grip a toy blowgun made of 20mm O.D. PVC tubing. To secure it in place, three M2x10 socket cap head screws and nuts are required to clamp on tightly. It can be used to attach an affordable laser dot sight for added precision. I've included the FreeCAD file so you can easily resize this design for other size piping if needed. When printing the rail blocks, make sure to enable supports as they will help prevent sagging. The nut pockets should print fine without any issues, but the screw pockets might require some tweaking to avoid sagging and ensure a smooth finish. I've included supports in the 3MF file to aid with this process. For optimal results, consider using PETG filament for this project as it needs to grip the PVC tube securely. PLA may crack under tension, so it's best to avoid using it for this application. Take a look at my blowgun mouthpiece design as well.
