Sig Sauer P365 Magazine Baseplate
thingiverse
This is a custom part designed to replace the baseplate of the magazine for the Sig P365. My father wanted to swap out the pinky extended version for the standard end without buying an entire new magazine, so I created this model from scratch based on the flat one he already had. The angles aren't perfectly accurate, but it fits flawlessly and is extremely robust; from a distance of three feet away, the printed part blends in seamlessly with the original. I'm still learning CAD, so I struggled to achieve the curved angle on the front edge, but this issue was resolved during post-processing. My father used a belt sander to carefully remove material from the front edge until it matched the correct angle and was flush with the grip. Lowering the layer height made sanding easier, but also weakened the part enough that it could be broken off the magazine by hand. With the 0.2mm layer height, my father found he couldn't break the part off the magazine by hand, and he's fired around 20 full mags so far without any problems.
