Sig Sauer P226 / P228 / P229 22LR Conversion Magazines
thingiverse
So, I recently picked up a 22LR conversion kit for my P229. It only came with one mag. Went on the search for more mags, and found them to be unobtanuum. Did find one source that has 3D printed ones for sale for $40 each. So, that sparked my brain. I can print my own. So I've modeled them, printed, test fit, and range tested them. I also went ahead and got the LRHO follower from Taylor Tactical Supply. So I modeled up my own version of that too. I bought the slide recoil spring, and mag springs from Taylor as well. I tested all combinations of OEM springs and Taylor springs in my mags and slide and they all seem to run reliably. You can print a complete mag body, follower, spring detent, and base plate and just order a 22LR mag spring from Taylor. Way less expensive than going rate of OEM mags. Note that the P226 and the P229 base plates are different to match the difference in width between P226 and P228 magazines. The file "p229_22lr_base_plate_oem_mag" is a replacement base plate for the OEM 22LR mags that has the better ergo that matches the contour of the P229 magwell better than the squared off shape. I created a P226 version too. I did not have a P226 22LR conversion kit to verify function, so if you do, please let me know how it works. I only verified fitment in my P226. Suggested print orientation shown in one of the thumbnail pics. Suggest printing them with a brim for increased bed adhesion. No supports are required for clean prints.
