Rocks in a streambed were subducted, remelted. drawn like taffy. and then solidified. Millions of years later glaciers covered this point with mile thick ice that slowly slid down the canyon smoothing off the rocks by pushing ice and gravel across the surfaces with the weight of the ice. Then ten thousand years of weathering eroded the surface away leaving pits and groves between the hard polished granite faces. from 46 images in 00h:44m:24s.
