Sidewinder X1 timing belt tensioner
thingiverse
I designed this top belt tensioner for my Sidewinder X1. NOTE: This tensioner will NOT work with the stock top filament roll mount. You will either have to modify it OR you can use this top mount that I designed that is adjustable in width and is very easy to swap out filament rolls. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4190152 When I had the top of the lead screws on each side in a position where there was no binding as the X (hot end) extrusion traveled from Z=0 (low) to Z=300(high), the belt didn't seem quite as tight as I wanted it to be. This allows you to adjust the belt tension, regardless of the position of the 2 lead screws. You will need 6 SLIDING M5 T-nuts and 6 M5x12 screws for the main bracket mounting. (OR for the shorter version 3 regular T-nuts and 3 M5x12 screws) You will also need: 3 M5x20 screws to mount the 3 idler pulley wheels 1 GT2 Idler Pulley 20 Teeth 5mm Bore 6mm Width Timing Pulley Wheel 2 GT2 Idler Pulley Toothless 5mm Bore 6mm Width Timing Pulley Wheel https://www.amazon.com/Dorhea-Aluminum-Toothless-Bearing-Accessories/dp/B07JMRR7CC/ref=sr_1_3?crid=UWLS8NX3U2GX&dchild=1&keywords=gt2+5mm+bore+toothless+width+6mm+belt+pulley&qid=1612227599&sprefix=gt2+toothless+bore+5mm%2Caps%2C184&sr=8-3 NOTE: I added a second version that is shorter and only uses 3 screws on top to mount it on the top extrusion. This second version can be mounted with 3 regular T-nuts without removing the top cross extrusion piece. The original version that I used requires that you take off the top cross extrusion to use SLIDING T-nuts (which I prefer using).
