Sidewinder X1 Frame Brace
thingiverse
I'm attaching a frame brace for my X1 printer. My V4 printer is what I'm using, so I can't confirm if this design will work with other versions or not. The top parts are attached to the printer with M5 T-nuts and M5x10 screws. The bottom part attaches to the printer where the front feet are located (using the same hardware) and one of the cover screw spots (requiring a slightly longer M3 screw). I'm using 1/2" electrical conduit cut to 27 inches, which is clamped in place with M3 screws and nuts (10m or longer suggested for better security). Applying some tape around the ends of the tubes will make them more secure. This design doesn't limit build volume at all. At maximum height, the cable may press slightly against the top left bracket but shouldn't be a problem. The bottom brackets are intentionally 3mm shorter than the original feet were. To add extra stability, you can print the pad file in soft TPU or place some other soft padding material under those parts. To install the top outside M5 T-nuts, you'll need to temporarily remove the frame screw next to where it will go. I hope this design works for you.
