The spacer is designed to prevent the idler arm from straying off its intended path along the filament track. It securely attaches to the extruder motor shaft and snaps into place within a corresponding hole in the aluminum plate, which is rigidly connected to the heatsink assembly. To minimize thermal distortions, it's essential to use PETG or other high-temperature filaments when printing with this setup.
