Sidewinder 115 mm Long for RC Models with 80 to 100 CM Wingspan.
thingiverse
Hey there, fellow model enthusiast! I was searching for some 60 cm span Grippen kits to build from the plan on RC Groups but found they were all too big. Given my history of struggling with shrinking models, I decided to create my own Sidewinder rockets using the same plan. To connect the nose and tail sections, I attempted to print joiner pieces, but that didn't work out so well, so I opted for small joiner tubes instead. Alternatively, you could use simple paper tubes smeared with glue - it's a cheap and effective solution. The Grippen model is solid, so be sure to use low infill or try printing in Vase or Corkscrew mode with 1 outer layer like I did. With a layer height of 0.1 mm and a nozzle set at 0.48, you'll get an amazing finish with a wall thickness of 0.5 mm. I've also included the Fusion 360 file for anyone who wants to make some adjustments - feel free to modify it as needed! Keep in mind that my design isn't a scale model or even a great copy of the original; I simply drew what looked right and called them Sidewinders so you'd know exactly what kind of rocket they were. Enjoy building your own models!
