Stock Spool Holder Problems The Anycubic 4MAX Pro stock spool holder is mounted on the back, which isn't ideal in my opinion: * Swapping out filament becomes very inconvenient. * The printer's effective depth increases, making it hard to fit in cramped spaces. * The printer cannot be leaned against the back wall for improved stabilization. * The stock spool handle is too short for thicker filament spools. This holder solves all of these problems by allowing you to hang a filament spool on any one of the printer's side walls. Just Print, No Drilling Necessary This accessory requires no modification to the printer's case because it simply hangs by latching onto the inner edge of the top hole of the printer's case. Despite this, it should be very stable due to being additionally supported by the printer's handle recess that is present on both side walls. Note: The holder cannot be hung if the top cover is installed. If you need the top cover because you print ABS, you could cut a small horizontal hole for the holder in the cover. Filament Guide The holder includes a filament guide hole in case you want to skip the filament runout sensor and feed the extruder from the side. The hole accepts 4mm PTFE from the top but is slightly larger due to print tolerance being low when printing the hole on the side. You may need to widen it a bit after printing. The idea is that it should firmly hold the tube, so it cannot be too large. Model Flavors Thanks to OpenSCAD being a computational modeler, multiple model flavors are provided for you to choose according to your use-case and liking. * A basic solid model that is 4.6mm thick. * Basic version thickened to 6mm just in case - the standard thickness should be more than enough considering it's supported by the side case wall and other planes. * Basic version shortened by 30mm and with the case handle support protrusion removed - might be somewhat less stable, but you can use it if you have a smaller print bed. * A 6mm thick version of the shorter flavor.
