Side-printable 1/4''-20 screw with hex head

Side-printable 1/4''-20 screw with hex head

prusaprinters

This design is successfully tested on a Prusa Mini with Prusament PETG. In my tests it did fit perfectly on a quarter inch tripod nut. I recommend 100% infill and PETG as material. It might well work with PLA as well, but that is not tested. My experience is that printed screws from PLA are surprisingly strong, but such a fine thread like ¼''-20 is not well suited for 3D printing, so do not overload it.The fitting quarter inch nut can be found here:https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/149174-quarterinch-nut-unc-14-20If you want to re-mix the screw or print it standup upright without the cut, you will find the complete model also here in the files tab.For those who wonder what the design was used for: I was asked by several users from countries using the imperial unit system, to create a quarter-inch-screw base version of my popular miniature vice.https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/53471I did not have such a screw and nut for reference and to test my design of the vice… So I made these parts ;-)Happy printing!
