I wanted to mount the LCD on the left of my machine but didn't want to lose access to the SD card slot. This allows you to swing the LCD out to insert an SD card. Then you can put the LCD flush with the machine to save space. (The SD card can't be in the slot as it swings open/close since it hits the Z stepper motor)OPTIONAL: there are slots for a small magnet and metal disc so the latch stays closed.
