Side Cover for Official Raspberry Pi Case and MakerFocus Power Button for RPi Module
thingiverse
I purchased a Makerfocus Raspberry Pi3 Remote Power Button for Raspberry Pi, which I paired with an official Raspberry Pi case. To utilize both features, I had to create a custom side cover as the power input was relocated to the inside of the case, and I wanted to keep it closed while maintaining functional IR ports. The design process involved significant time and PLA material investment. A document detailing step-by-step hardware installation instructions is included for users who wish to replicate this setup. I hope that others can benefit from my experience and find this project useful. For those who appreciate the effort, a tip is always welcome; gratuities are not required but are appreciated. Print Settings: Printer: Monoprice Maker Select V2.1 Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.08mm Infill: 50 Notes: I experimented with various printing methods but found that printing vertically on the top edge produced the best results. For reference, I've included the .gcode and Simplify3D Factory File with supports. Post-Printing: To complete the project, a hobby knife and needle file set are necessary for cleaning up and removing all supports. A clear plastic sheet, cut down to fit, can be glued onto the inner side of the case to create a custom cover for the IR Port hole.
