Side Carrier for 5 Gallon Bucket - Ver. 3
thingiverse
This was something I made for a beach cleanup non-profit, Essence of Earth LLC. They had been manually separating cigarette butts from trash. They count and send them to a special recycling center that specializes in cigarette butts. This is the third version I made for them after sending the second one and getting more feedback. They liked the single piece and the bucket design, but it was oversized. Most people don't collect more than 100 cigarette butts during their hour cleanups and this could probably hold a few hundred. So I cut the width down to half. This saved a lot of material to print and I also thinned out the arms that hold onto the bucket. It is only thick in the areas that have the holes for the chopstick reinforcements. Those 4 holes on the arms fit bamboo chopsticks. Gluing chopsticks in the holes increases the strength of the pieces that hold onto the 5 gallon bucket. To be honest, I don't think they are really required anymore after testing, especially after reducing the size. But if you think you might have some serious weight in there then do it. The piece is meant to be printed without support and should be printed with the bottom of the bucket pointing downwards. This is all based on my Ender 3 Pro. I have continued to place the non-profit organization's name on the top of the bucket (Essence of Earth).
