SI-8B Geiger Mueller Tube Casing

A protective casing designed specifically for the SI-8B geiger-mueller-tube can be created. This casing can accommodate various front plates, one with an entirely open front measuring 65mm in diameter and another featuring a honeycomb-grid to safeguard the mylar entrance window of the tube. If multiple front plate changes are necessary, it's recommended to use the "_keyed"-variant along with a wrench, providing a lever to disassemble the assembly. Friction may cause the two screwed parts to remain stuck together firmly. The handle features slots that allow for the insertion of a 30mm wide PCB, which can house any desired preamp or signal processing circuitry. A standard M12 cable gland is located at the back, providing an opening for secure cable connections. To ensure a reliable connection, the gland should be glued in place using epoxy, ideally along with the handle and shell parts. The chamfer must be completely filled with epoxy to guarantee a seamless connection.
