The bi-rail STL is no longer necessary for this section. I left it in case someone wants access to it. Consider this part educational only until you conduct your own testing. This design could also be used as a barrel cooler by inserting a damp rag into the end to prevent overheating of the PLA. Update: 9/3, Version 2 was added with an extended body and three screw mounting holes. Two of these go through the upper, providing additional reinforcement for the barrel retainer. On 9/7, Version 3 was introduced, eliminating the barrel retainer in favor of a sliding design that fits over the upper. This change addresses a length issue discovered after receiving the barrel, making up for the difference and potentially resulting in a stronger overall part. The dimensions and thickness remain the same as the barrel retainer, allowing the use of the same screws. On 9/9, Version 4 was updated with minor improvements for fitment. This version can now be printed without scaling, depending on your printer's calibration settings. My prints were almost spot-on, requiring minimal trimming and a tight fit. I included step files and Fusion360 files for Version 4. The final picture is of Version 4. On 9/14, an issue was identified where the barrel retainer had been used instead of the upper in a boolean operation. Mounting locations were also changed during this process, and the upper lacked fillets. I apologize to anyone who downloaded the design; however, it would still have functioned if the forward edges on the upper were rounded off.
