Shuttlecock

A high-drag projectile known as a shuttlecock (or simply shuttle) boasts an open conical shape. The cone is fashioned from sixteen overlapping feathers embedded securely into a rounded cork base, which is then wrapped in thin leather or synthetic material for added durability. A top-notch Badminton Shuttlecock is crafted from goose wing feathers that have been meticulously selected and measured to ensure uniformity. The feathers are precisely measured from the tip to the top of the base, guaranteeing each shuttle is identical in length, ranging between 62mm and 70mm. Each shuttle must weigh between 4.74 grams and 5.50 grams for optimal performance. Shuttles are typically categorized according to speed, with standards varying based on skill level. Beginners may benefit from slightly faster shuttles until their strength improves. Meanwhile, more experienced players can use standard-speed shuttlecocks when hitting from baseline to baseline. If a player finds the shuttlecock too fast or too slow due to limited access to differently sped models, they can try adjusting the feathers by tipping them outward to slow it down or inward to speed it up.
