Shut The Box Game, also known as Blitz, Bakarat, Canoga, Klackers, Batten Down the Hatches, Kingoball, Trictrac, Cut Throat, Fork Your Neighbor, and Jackpot, is a thrilling dice game for one or more players. Typically played in groups of two to four for stakes, this game requires strategy and skill. A counting box with tiles numbered 1 to 9 is traditionally used, but the game can also be played with just a pair of dice, pen, and paper. Some variations use up to 10 or 12 tiles, dominoes, or even a deck of cards as tiles. This allows for the option of using up to six dice if a Double 18 domino set is used. At the start of the game, all levers or tiles are "open," showing the numerals 1 to 9. Each player takes turns rolling the die or dice into the box. If the sum of the remaining tile(s) is 6 or lower, the player rolls only one die; otherwise, both dice must be rolled. After throwing, the player adds up the pips on the dice and then shuts one or more open numbers that equal the total number of dots showing on the dice. For example, if the total number of dots is 8, the player can choose any combination of open numbers, such as 8, 7 and 1, 6 and 2, 5 and 3, 5 and 2 and 1, or 4 and 3 and 1. The player continues rolling the dice and shutting numbers until they cannot shut any more. At that point, the player scores the sum of the remaining open numbers. For instance, if the numbers 2, 3, and 5 are still open when the player throws a one, their score is 10 (2 + 3 + 5 = 10). Play then passes to the next player. To clarify, if 2, 3, and 5 are the only open numbers, throwing a 4 ends the player's turn since it requires either 4 or the pair 1 and 3 to be open. With 2, 3, and 5 as the only open numbers, the only throws that do not end the player's turn are 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 10. After every player has taken a turn, the player with the lowest score wins. If a player succeeds in closing all of the numbers, they shout "Shut the Box" – they win immediately and the game is over. The Shut The Box game box measures 279.4mm length x 183.6999mm width x 54.825mm high when fully assembled. Each die measures 19mm length x 19mm width x 19mm high.
