Shut-off valve
myminifactory
Thingiverse Mirror This instant shut-off valve assembles in just one second. Simply place the knob into the housing, insert the 4mm pneumatic tube through the hole, and it's ready to use. Turning the knob creates two kinks in the tube that effectively cut off airflow. These kinks may remain visible after opening the valve depending on the duration of shut-off and the properties of the tube material. I'm not sure how many operations can be performed at the same spot before the tube is damaged, but we'll see. Of course, when the valve is open, the tube can always be shifted to a different position. If the standard knob doesn't lock well due to overly flexible tubes (e.g., Festo PUN-H), use the Knob_Tight version instead. An important benefit of this valve is that it's leak-free. This makes it ideal for shutting off pressurized air tanks for extended periods without losing pressure. This valve has been tested with 4mm polyurethane tubes from CompatiblePneumatics using a standard knob, and with Festo PUN-H 4x0.75mm tubes using Knob_Tight.
