Shush Mute for cornet or trumpet
thingiverse
This is an exact replica of the Sshhmute practice mute created from images. Printed with 0.2mm thickness and 20% infill, it's remarkably light while providing outstanding volume reduction. It also comes with files for a custom end cap that can be used to mount a condenser microphone and a jack socket. This socket can be connected directly to a Yamaha Silent Brass or an amplifier for headphones. To set this up, you'll need to mount a 3.5mm mono jack socket in the hole on the side of the electronics addon, solder a condenser microphone to the terminals on a short wire, and then glue the microphone to the casing. Finally, glue the end cap to the end of the mute using superglue. To securely hold the mute inside the instrument, I recommend wrapping self-vulcanizing tape around the raised part of the mute where it fits into the bell. Pull the tape tightly and overlap it by one full turn. Although this tape isn't sticky, it forms a rubber-like grip that clings to the mute and holds firmly inside the bell of the instrument without being too difficult to remove when needed.
