Shush Mute for cornet or trumpet
thingiverse
This is a copy of the Sshhmute practice mute made from pictures. Printed with 0.2mm height and 20% infil it is light and provides excellent reduction of volume. Also includes files for an end cap to be fitted which can be used to fit a condenser microphone and jack socket which can be connected to a Yamaha Silent Brass or an amplifier for headphones. Mount a 3.5mm mono jack socket in the hole on the side of the electronics addon, solder a condensor microphone to the terminals on a short wire anc glue the microphone to the casing. Glue the end to the end of the mute. I use superglue. To hold the mute in the instrument, I recommend winding self vulcanising tape around the raised part of the mute where it goes into the bell, pulling the tape tightly and overlapping itself by one full turn. The tape is not sticky but forms a rubber like grip arounf the mute which clings inside the bell of the instrument and holds firmly enough to stay in reliably but releases easily to take out again.
