Shure SM58 Mic Battery Cup Replacement
thingiverse
3D Printing enthusiasts: Be aware that the battery covers or cups on Shure SM58 wireless microphones are prone to cracking and eventually breaking if you twist the cap too tightly around the threads. I started by remixing pmcpajadan's original design, but then decided to re-implement it in JSCAD for easier customization. Unlike most SM58 mic cups, this version features a flat bottom that allows for printing without support. The tolerance is quite tight, so I've included the OpenJSCAD file in case any adjustments are needed. To ensure accurate thread tolerances, I recommend inverting the print with threads facing down and interrupting after the nut portion finishes printing. You can then test this piece on your mic to verify its fit. When it's time for the final print, make sure it's oriented bottom-down, with threads at the top - unless you have a printer that excels at bridging!
