Shunting Viaduct HO Scale Model Train Accessory This HO scale (1:87) shunting viaduct is a curved ramp that drops from 80mm in height to just 7mm over a total track length of approximately 100cm. The curved section has a radius of 415mm, designed for use with Fleishmann curved rails of the same radius. The viaduct comes in seven separate parts, each under 180mm long and no wider than 125mm, making it suitable for printing on a wide range of 3D printers. Except for part five, all components can be printed without support material. This design is optimized for a layer height of 0.18mm and works best with a 0.3mm or 0.4mm nozzle diameter. For the curved sections (parts four, five, and six), an optional sidewalk can be printed alongside the track (see all six "sidewalk" STL files). To conceal the seam between parts one-two and two-three, extra pillars can be optionally printed and glued to the outside of the viaduct (see all four "pillar" STL files). The viaduct features a detailed brick relief with over 17,000 bricks on its walls. This design allows for easy "washing in" of mortar using light grey paint before applying dark red paint with a roller or sponge. Printing times per part varied from eight to sixteen hours, and approximately two kilograms of filament were required to print all parts. A PDF drawing showing the most critical dimensions of the viaduct in millimeters is included for reference. Happy printing! Huib Schippers (Tinkerman)
