Fidget spinner created using standard 5/16-18 nuts (or M8 as an alternative) and a single 608 ZZ skate bearing positioned at the center. The objective was to design an easy-to-print spinner that features substantial weight, achieved by employing the more affordable nuts, thereby requiring only one center bearing for each unit constructed. As I am building several of these, my goal was to minimize costs without compromising quality. To differentiate this spinner from others, a small window was added, showcasing a triangular section of the nuts, resulting in a unique and eye-catching design that I find particularly appealing. The curved surfaces give the spinner a comfortable shape that feels natural in the hand. The file is designed for printing one half of the spinner, which must be duplicated to create the complete unit. When two halves are printed and assembled, they form a clamshell structure that securely holds the bearing and nuts inside. To prevent accidental disassembly, it is recommended to glue the halves together. This fidget spinner measures 3.375 inches in diameter and 0.5 inches in thickness once assembled (each half being 0.25 inches thick). I have successfully printed these using PLA at a 30% infill with supports, achieving excellent results. However, it is essential to note that the center bearing will require grip caps, which I have yet to design. Nevertheless, there are numerous existing designs on this platform that could be adapted for use as suitable center caps. If you decide to build one of these fidget spinners, please share your construction photos with the community! Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
