Shower Waste Cover Plate
prusaprinters
Both shower trays in my house needed new waste covers - one got broken a while ago and the second has the chrome finish peeling-off the plastic. The cost of a manufacturer's replacement part is insane (£32.50++ plus postage and packing), so I decided to model and print my own.I didn't set out to replicate the original 'domed' part but rather to create something simple and functional that does the job.One of the problems of the original part was getting it off to clean the trap (the reason for the breakage in the first place), so I opted for a single 20mm hole that acts both as drain and finger hole to lift the cover. There was also no good reason to have the multiple fixing points of the original, so I opted for just two, plus six support pillars around the perimeter.I printed in Prusa Silver PLA (the filament that came with my MK3S+) using 100% infill for maximum strength. I have uploaded two versions of the design: one has a central 20mm hole, the other has the 20mm hole offset to one side. This is clearly a bit of a ‘niche’ print but someone may find it useful!Contact me by direct message if you have any questions.
