Shower Shelf Caddy with Suction Cups and Razor Holder
thingiverse
A simple shower caddy/shelf designed specifically for my girlfriend's needs. The two-part design allows for a 3D-printed outside and a laser-cut shelf on the bottom, giving users flexibility with printing options. The full setup measures 8.6" x 4.7" (220mm x 120mm), featuring small razor holders on either side. I aimed to create a shelf large enough to accommodate seventy-five female shower products. For optimal stability, I designed the caddy to utilize Medium Vinyl Suction Cups from TAP Plastic. These suction cups are commonly used for various applications, and their dimensions can be found in the provided datasheet. The holes in the model for the 3 suction cups have a diameter of 13.8mm. An alternative attachment method is using command strips on the back of the caddy to secure it to the shower wall if the suction cups fail to adhere properly. To improve suction cup adhesion, users can try the method described in this instructable: applying packing tape to the wall before attaching the suction cup. This technique has proven effective for non-smooth surfaces. The model was printed on a Prusa MK3s, and it barely fit within the print bed's dimensions. Smaller printers may encounter difficulties printing this design due to its size. **File Differences and Printing Notes** For optimal printing results, place the caddy bottom-down on the print bed. The angled slots are designed at 45°, allowing for smooth printing without supports. The "Shower Shelf Caddy No Razor Holders" file does not include the side-mounted razor holders, making it a suitable option for smaller printers. The "Fully 3D Printed Shelf" file includes the shelf on the bottom as an integral part of the STL, eliminating the need for laser cutting. The "Shelf Laser Cut Acrylic" file contains various formats for laser cutting, including Adobe Illustrator (.ai), DXF, and SVG. These files are designed to accommodate different laser cutting processes. **Update - Improved Version** I have uploaded a revised version of the design that utilizes metal/clear bars for hanging washcloths instead of suction cups. This updated caddy also features adjustable arm sizes, ensuring stability and reliability even in challenging shower conditions.
