Shower Hook with Extender Loop
thingiverse
This was one of my very first designs when I started 3D printing. The suction cup hook I had for my towel wouldn't stick, and I quickly saw a practical use for a 3D print in my own home. We make use of these all the time now. Once my young daughter started showering on her own, she discovered that she still struggled to reach her towel. She came up with the idea for a loop to use along with an additional hook to lower the kids' towels down to them. We've set up a system of hooks that works well for the whole family now. Inside the shower is also great for washcloths. I designed this project using Wolfram Mathematica since it was my only 3D design software at the time. I printed with 0.25 layer height, 15% infill, 3 top and bottom layers, and 3 outline/perimeter shells. No raft was used. No supports were needed either. I can fit two hooks and two loops on my print bed for a single job. The hook at the top is 1 inch wide (approximately 25 mm). The models are 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) thick. The hook itself is approximately 216 mm long and 95 mm wide. The loop measures 63.5 mm x 63.5 mm.
