I printed a new shower drain after my kid broke theirs through a hole they stuck their foot in. Instead of spending $7.00 on an overpriced part, I opted to design and manufacture one myself. I strengthened the holes so future incidents like this won't happen again by adding extra reinforcement. My homemade version is designed with a compression fit that's sturdy enough for repeated use. I'm including the design file here in case you need to make any modifications for your own project - add screw holes, enlarge or shrink it to suit your needs, whatever fits your plans best.
