Shower door pivot / hinge replacement
thingiverse
The bottom pivot of our hefty shower glass door had its original plastic component break, as displayed in the second image. To rectify this, I spent a couple of hours designing an OpenSCAD model for a replacement part, which was then printed by my Replicator 2 within approximately 40 minutes. In order to boost durability, I opted for a 30% infill rate. The new part fits seamlessly, and the door operates smoothly; however, time will tell how well our PLA part withstands use. If it were to break in the future, there are various ways to enhance the design's strength. For printing specifications, I utilized a Replicator 2 with 0.22mm layers, three shells, and 30% infill.
