shower curtains pipe fastener replacement thingy
thingiverse
Dislike shower curtain rods due to their tendency to loosen over time, requiring constant readjustment. The design issue may lie in the way they're secured in pipes. To improve this, I created an alternative that applies force from within, using a fastener that pulls the split tube part into the pipe wall. Hopefully, it works better than the IKEA version! Printing the corner pieces can be tricky, but bend.stl and bend2.stl work with support. A future version might split the bend for easier printing, requiring gluing. Wall mounts can be customized as well. The design allows for adjustment with different pipe diameters, using outerDiameterPipe = 30, innerDiameterPipe = 26.5, and innerRadiusBend = 10. Print one set of fastner2xv3.stl, along with bend.stl or bend2.stl for support. Assemble using M3 bolts and nuts, and secure in the pipe before tightening on both ends. Feel free to modify the design! Check out elmom's MCAD GitHub page for further customization options.
