Shovel Handel Replacement
thingiverse
I refused to discard my trusty garden spade when its plastic handle snapped. The shovel itself was still in perfect working condition, and I saw no reason to waste a good tool. To create a new handle, I quickly opened up Fusion360 and got to work. Although I hadn't put the replacement through any rigorous testing yet, it had proven sturdy enough to dig shallow holes in soft soil without complaint. I admit that I made a mistake when modeling the new handle - I must have misread the measurements from my old one, because it ended up being too tall. If and when this new handle breaks, I'll go back to Fusion360 and create an even better version, one that's shorter and stronger than before. I'd love to hear from anyone who decides to make their own replacement handle - what were your successes and failures with the project?
