Shot Glass
thingiverse
I finally made the leap and purchased my first 3D printer after all that patience. Once calibrated and with several attempts under my belt, here's a shot of my very first successful print on my own printer - Yay! The object turned out impressively nice considering I still have to work on a few aspects with my machine. Although confident in the file itself since it ran smoothly through Netfabb, there are indeed a couple tweaks left to implement on my printer. I carefully designed and modelled the martini glass using an object that caught my attention at Walmart as reference - one set among many! Upon inspecting its final appearance, I noticed the subtle texture of the base feels genuinely refreshing when grasped or touched. Curiosity led me to test it with water - filling it up revealed minor imperfections, where the liquid would sneak through some tiny gaps in between layers before leaking onto and pooling inside the bottom. Well done for now! If I were to touch that up a bit with paint, followed by a coating of food-grade epoxy, that baby is ready to rock at my next soiree. Stay tuned for many more mind-blowing models coming down the pipeline!
