Children are given ten plates, each measuring 12 x 12 cm, along with a ruler of a specific length for reference. The task is to place all objects smaller or larger than the ruler on the plate, optionally setting a front benchmark point. Multiple plates and batches of similar items must be placed on the plates, ensuring that each item's color and length are unique per plate. This exercise can be approached by working with one plate at a time or comparing different objects. In this activity, there are two workshops in a class of five plates, divided into two colors: one workshop consists of shorter items, while the other has longer ones.
