Short range stringing test
thingiverse
I'm testing a compact, rapid-printing test object to fine-tune stringing settings. Large objects don't exhibit stringing with my Simplify3D settings, but smaller items do, such as the wicker chair models (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32225) I'm trying to print. If you've successfully printed these without stringing, please share your method. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Simple Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 100% Notes: I'm using Simplify3D with 3 mm retraction and 9000mm/min non-printing move speed, printing at 195 degrees with PLA. Lower temperatures minimize stringing but result in weaker prints. How I Designed This The STL file was generated in 123D Design by combining sections of the wicker backs from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32225 with a small rectangular shape for quick printing and testing purposes.
