Short Low-Profile Tool Tray for Watchmaker's Bench
prusaprinters

This tray is designed for easy deployment across a multitude of watchmaking and jewelry-making bench styles. Can fit inside most side-drawers or be laid across in series within deeper/wider drawers to quickly organize items. And of course, this makes a useful organizer for tools on the benchtop surface.

The overall dimensions are 200mm (L) x 200mm (W) x 15mm (H). The long compartments are designed to hold items such as tweezers, pegwood sticks, barrel arbor holders, hand levers, etc. The smaller compartments can accommodate dip oilers and other short-handled tools. The wide compartment at the top is good for miscellaneous tools. The tray is quite rigid and will resist flexing even with heavy tools in place. Slight bevels and contours around the corners allow for easy dropping-in and picking-up of items.

This tray was tested on the Prusa i3 MK3S+ with 0.40mm nozzle at both 0.10mm, 0.15mm, and 0.30mm layer heights. Variable layer heights can be used to achieve a nicer finish around the contoured areas. Ironing can also be done on the bottom layer for the compartments (not recommended for the topmost layer).

If you have trouble with warping and see the corners of the tray lift-off from the printbed, I recommend applying a glue-stick layer to improve adhesion. You may also use a brim/skirt.

The blue tray in the photos was printed using Prusament Azure Blue PLA.
