Short and Long Golf Tees
thingiverse
###Description I crafted these golf tees after common plastic tees found in stores. These tees can be printed using PLA or ABS, but I highly recommend ABS due to its superior ability to withstand impacts and its potential for acetone smoothing afterwards. The photos posted are of the short (par 3) tees. I added a personal touch with names/initials on mine, but these were not included in the uploaded STL files. If you'd like to add your own name, I've provided the FreeCAD (FCStd) files that include editable text. The text is also rounded off for a more polished finish, but keep in mind that nothing will be as clean as having no text at all. ###Performance The upright tees will look better after printing, but printing the tees without a base horizontally (with supports) will yield a better performing tee. Additionally, adding a large number of walls (6-8) will result in an even better performing tee. After extensive testing, ABS significantly outperformed PLA tees. The long ABS tees printed horizontally lasted 10+ drives on average, and if they did break, it was usually due to poor layer adhesion mixed with a severe impact. The short ABS tees printed horizontally remained intact throughout the round. In contrast, the PLA tees broke after only a few shots, regardless of printing orientation. TLDR: If you're looking for a pretty tee that won't be used, go with PLA. If you want a tee that will last a round or two, choose ABS (printed horizontally with supports).
