Shopsmith Mark V Bandsaw Coupler
myminifactory
I snagged an older Shopsmith Mark V from a lady for peanuts while making a service call. Several parts were missing, including the coupler that links the motor to the bandsaw. Shopsmith charges $32 for this adapter, but I'd rather make one myself if possible. As you can see, my initial coupler was crafted from PVC pipe and epoxy. I've relied on that coupler for over two years without any issues. Now that I have a 3D printer, why not create a new one? Before printing the complete coupler, consider making a test piece to ensure the sizing is accurate for your connector. The coupler may need to be slightly enlarged for a snug yet secure fit. Also, inspect your metal connectors. You'll notice that one of mine has four points while the other features five. If both pieces are identical on your setup, this coupler won't work.
