Shopsmith Jointmatic Stop Rod Holder
thingiverse
This is a holder for a home-made stop rod on the Shopsmith Jointmatic. The Jointmatic is no longer in production and parts and accessories are hard to come by. The stop rod accessory is a nice add for functional use. I designed this to serve the same purpose as the original Shopsmith version for a new-to-me Jointmatic that didn't have any accessories with it. I printed this in PLA at 100% infill for strength. The side holes must be tapped to 1/4x20 threads but the hole prints to the proper pilot-hole size. After tapping the hole all the way through, you can use a knob on either side depending on your need. The rod itself can be cut from a 3/8" aluminum or steel rod from the local hardware store. The rod is 9 or 10 inches in length. Note that if you choose to use a dowel, they are typically undersized so the fit will likely be very loose.
