Shopping list: Don’t forget!!!
myminifactory
The sugar bowl is almost out of sugar, which is bad news since there's none left at home. So make a note to buy a kilo of sugar when you go shopping next time to the grocery store. This nifty device holds a roll of paper - the kind used in printing calculators that you can find in many office supply stores. The shopping list uses paper with a width of 45 mm and a diameter of 50 mm, but to adjust it for other dimensions, simply scale it up or down in the slicer. Since it comes with a pen holder, it's easy to note the items you need to pick up at the grocery store next time. The pen or pencil rests on the lower support, so any size of pen or pencil fits perfectly in the holder. Just start writing at the bottom and fill up the window from there. When the window is full of shopping items, simply pull the paper down and keep making notes. At shopping time, pull the paper down until all the items are below the base plate and tear it off by pulling it. The bottom will act as a cutting blade, so you can take the list to the store. The unit attaches to the wall with two screws. Place a spacer behind the unit around the screws to make sure there's enough clearance when the paper is pulled through. Don't overtighten the screws so the unit can be lifted off easily. Another option is using double-sided adhesive foam tape at the back, which doesn't require any drilling. Alternatively, you can place two 10 mm neodymium magnets over the screw holes to make it fridge-friendly (thanks for the tip Feiming). The paper slots are under an angle to facilitate smooth paper transport. A simple decoration shows that this shopping list is designed specifically for use in the kitchen. This version of the shopping list is made with right-handed people in mind, and the pen holder won't get in the way when writing. To create one for left-handed people, simply change the indicated translate functions in the OpenSCAD file to move the pen holder to the right - this is clearly commented in the SCAD file. Make sure to hang it high enough so that kids can't grab it and use it as an endless drawing board or decorate the room with 20 meters of garlands. This shopping list can be printed as one piece without support on any 3D printer, even on the small PrintrBot Simple.
