The store offers Euro coin sizes of 1 and 2 Euros for use in shopping carts. I tested the 1 Euro size on a brand new ALDI cart and found it worked when inserted slightly off-center. The coin was able to be removed after releasing the cart, indicating success. However, it took some effort due to the cart's design accommodating coins of .50€, 1€, and 2€ denominations. As a result, the smaller 1 Euro variant must be carefully positioned to fit within the cart's slot.
