Shop Vacuum Quick-Connects

Quick connects to use for a shop vacuum setup. I have a rolling bench with a vacuum and cyclone setup built into it and I wanted a way to have an external connection to the vacuum without disconnecting it from the main dust collection setup. I made the bench mount connection where I can remove a cap and then close the tool blast gates, and then use the vacuum around the shop. I also added it to my mitre saw connection so that I can use that hose for the vac setup if I need a bit of extra reach off that side of the bench. Pieces are designed for: - 2.5" dust collection hose - 6mmx3mm magnets, stacked 2 high (6mmx6mm magnets should work just the same) - 2-1/4"x 1/8" O-rings. Note that these fit tight, and also need to be stretched a bit, but do fit. Press from the outside of the quick-connects towards the inside and the pla should flex a bit and the o-ring will snap into place. There are a few different pieces that are in the files: - Locking Female quick connect - Needs to be used with the locking male quick connect due to the offset magnets. - Non-locking female quick connect - will work with either of the male quick connects (locking, or non-locking) - Locking Male quick connect - works with either female quick connect - Non-locking male quick connect - works with either female quick connect. The only reason to use this one over the locking version, is that the tabs will be a bit stronger and less prone to damage if dropped on the tabs. - Bench mount - Allows for a suction port to be mounted into the corner of a bench. I use this to connect the hoses to so I can use my undermounted vacuum in the shop without disconnecting it from my main collection system. The screw holes are a bit fragile, so i don't recommend using power tools to mount it (ask me how i know)... I ended up gorilla gluing it along with 1 screw (i still used the piece after I broke the other screw mount) and it is rock solid. I have added another screw hole to it, but haven't printed or mounted it in that configuration yet, so hopefully the glue isn't required anymore. - Cap - to cap the bench mount suction when I am using the vacuum as dust collection for the other tools in the bench. - Attachment adaptor - allows me to use the attachments that came with my ridgid vacuum with the 2.5" hose and quick connects. the attachments have a 57mm ID and the adaptor piece has a slight taper to it so that they fit tight once slid down onto the adaptor. Pictures and additional video showing all of the pieces: https://imgur.com/a/5cYQov5 2023-08-20 Update - I have been having issues with the locking tabs breaking off on the locking male pieces when I use them on hoses that I am using and moving frequently. They end up getting dropped and bumped and the tabs break. So consider remixing something more robust if you're using them in those types of situations. I may get to an update at some point and will upload it when it do.
