Shop Vac to 3x1 in. Adapter

I designed and built an adapter for dust and grit collection on my surface grinder. Initially, I adapted a plastic accessory that came with the vacuum, but after a year of use, hot particles melted right through the plastic. To fix this problem, I redesigned the adapter to use a durable aluminum extrusion measuring 1-in. by 3-in. outside with 1/8-in. wall thickness. The "V" cut is precisely 60-degrees as shown in the attached picture. I used reliable 1/8-in. pop rivets for this part's holes. This adapter connects a standard shop vac hose male termination to the extrusion, allowing efficient dust collection.
