Shop Vac Thien Baffle Dust Collector (for 1.875" RIDGID hose)
thingiverse
Dude, this is way more exciting than I thought it would be. I might actually lose control of my bowels right now. These are the key components you'll need to create a Thien baffle dust collector for your shopvac. First, gather all necessary materials and BYOBucket. You'll have to print 3-4 support blocks, 1 outlet washer, 1 outlet (choosing a clearance size), 1 one inlet (ditto). This initial upload was mainly to test fitting a RIDGID 1-7/8" hose using the clearance settings that worked for me - printing with eSun ABS+ on a Lulzbot Mini at high speed. I've since added several remixes for other sizes and brands, as well as files with different levels of clearance. The XS, S, M, L, XL files are variants with different levels of clearance (in 0.015" increments) for the tapers so you can get a snug fit. The mediums worked best for me, but your printer/settings/filament combo may print differently, so if you want to do a test before committing to a long-ass print, there's some files that only include the tapers. Alternatively, if the taper comes out too tight, just bust out the sandpaper and fix it. If it's too loose, you can apply thin coats of super glue and baking soda (acts as a hardening catalyst) as necessary to fill in the gap. A few tips on slicing/assembling: * Cut a baffle that's 11.5 inches in diameter. * Use a high level of perimeter layers so you can ream the pilot holes (as discussed in the video). * Use #6, 1/2" long screws. * You'll probably have the easiest time with the inlet if you print it face-down. That's the only way my Lulzbot Mini would even print the thing, as it just barely fit the work envelope, and that'll save you a lot of support material. * An adhesion brim might be useful on the inlet too. There may have been updates/improvements/reorganizing done since then, however, so I suggest you take a look at the latest revisions too. https://github.com/swolebro/caddyshack/tree/938b72316602eeefaa4366efd87d541c0e716f01/scripts/shop
