The Shokaku was a powerful Japanese aircraft carrier that played a significant role in World War II's Pacific Theater battles. She aggressively participated in numerous naval engagements, notably the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, the intense Battle of the Coral Sea and the pivotal clash at the Santa Cruz Islands. Accompanying her were Mitsubishi A6M "zero" fighters, renowned for their exceptional maneuverability, and Nakajima B5N torpedo bombers, equipped with the formidable Type-91 torpedo capable of delivering devastating blasts to enemy ships.
