Shoei RF-1200 Helmet GoPro FPV Chin Mount (Sturdy, Permanent)
thingiverse
My brother was involved in a minor collision caused by an irresponsible driver who sped off, leaving him shaken. I decided to create a custom mount for his new GoPro, which he's been eagerly awaiting. I'm sharing this design here because I believe it could help others identify and report reckless drivers on the road. This mount was specifically tailored to accommodate the unique shape of the GoPro Session. Its distinctive width from front to back required a customized approach to ensure proper clearance for tilting purposes. If the camera isn't tilted when in riding position, it's likely to capture an unflattering view of the ground. However, this design can be easily adapted to fit other cameras or mount types, with the key feature being the contour curve that provides a snug fit. When I built this mount, I encountered a challenge in removing the center corner area of the curved fitting, which left a slight visual imperfection. Nevertheless, I knew it wouldn't be noticeable once installed close to the helmet and secured with epoxy, filling out any gaps.
