Shock Absorber
grabcad
A shock absorber, in essence, a shock "damping" device, is constructed to mitigate and suppress abrupt jolt impulses mechanically or hydraulically. It achieves this by transforming the kinetic energy of the shock into another form of energy (mostly heat), which is subsequently dispersed. Generally, it employs a dashpot mechanism that opposes motion via viscous friction to dampen shocks.
