Shizuko - the quiet manga schoolgirl
pinshape
EDIT: July 8, 2015 : Click to see the Time-Lapse of the printing. Shizuko means "the quiet child" in Japanese. She's your typical Japanese schoolgirl inspired by classic Seinen manga, complete with a short skirt and schoolgirl uniform. She even sports a cellular phone with Totoro as her mascot - a little something to give her that extra Ecchi flair. I wanted a serene scene: a schoolgirl sitting beneath blooming cherry trees. Unfortunately, the tree was too intricate for my printing niche of "support free." When I designed Shizuko, I created two versions of this model: this one and another more suited to the style of Kill Bill - the girl wielding a katana (edit July 12, 2015; she's now online). Perhaps I'll upload that version later. This model is truly optimized for FDM printers, requiring no support structures. Recommended settings include a layer thickness of 0.15-0.2mm, original scale, two perimeters, and 10% infill.
