Shiqmim Area D Cupmark
sketchfab
A skilled artisan once carefully carved a distinctive cupmark into the ancient Pliestocene loess, serving as a crucial anchor point for a ceramic vessel that had been placed within its confines. A thick layer of plaster encircled the periphery of the cupmark, securing the vessel in position as it lay amidst the excavated remnants of Area D at the Chalcolithic archaeological site of Shiqmim, nestled deep within the arid expanse of Southern Israel's Negev Desert.
