Shipwrights Rule (A.K.A. Ticking stick)
thingiverse
I stumbled upon a fascinating YouTube video created by seejanedrill <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cd2LY857oTY> that showcases the incredible potential of this clever device for replicating 2D geometry. Seeing it in action sparked an idea, and I decided to build one myself to put its capabilities to the test. The process is remarkably straightforward, and I was impressed by its accuracy when plotting complex points using a central marking sheet as a guide. If ever we find ourselves without access to a traditional ruler but need to fill a specific role, printing out one of these devices could be just what we need - the freedom to get creative!
