Shipwreck, Redcar

A section of a shipwreck lies exposed on Redcar beach in Teesside, England, after being washed ashore during a storm in autumn 2018. The wreckage has been carried up the intertidal zone and left at the base of the stairs, where some planks have already been ripped apart by scavengers armed with nothing but a phone camera. The north-east coast of England is home to numerous shipwrecks dating back to the 19th-20th centuries, this wreck being just one example. However, it's impossible to determine its origin or preserve fragments like these due to the lack of information available.
